Gentle Chair Yoga Exercises

From ancient yogic practices to modern forms of yogas, every yogic approach helps with developing the body and mind that train your whole being to achieve health benefits. However, it’s essential to learn and practice these yoga postures under the supervision of a trained expert to incorporate them correctly and achieve their optimum benefits without any risk or injuries.

We introduce the unique and flexible gentle chair yoga exercises program at Soul Body Balance. We understand that not everyone can participate in traditional yoga classes due to physical limitations or mobility issues. Our specialized inclusive approach to gentle chair yoga can be helpful for you to recover from an injury, deal with chronic pain or simply prefer a gentle practice.

These yogic techniques adapt traditional poses and exercises to perform while seated. It combines gentle movements, breathing techniques, and mindfulness to promote physical and mental well-being.

Chair Yoga poses in our fitness program

Seated Urdhva Hastasana

This chair yoga pose focuses on stretching and elongating the spine while engaging the core muscles. Just sit tall in the chair, raise your arms overhead, palms facing each other, and reach towards the sky.

Seated Uttanasana

A seated forward fold pose targets the hamstrings and lower back. While sitting on the edge of the chair, you fold forward, allowing your torso to rest on your thighs.

The Seated Spinal Twist is a gentle twist that helps release tension in the back and promote spinal mobility. Starting with a tall spine, you gently rotate your upper body to one side, using the backrest of the chair for support and repeat.
